Locate a company website that you really think "nails" you as a consumer. Using Chapter 4 as your guide (i.e. market segmentation, lifestyle, packaging...), analyze that website to see HOW it caters to YOU-AS-TARGET. It must be two full paragraphs and link the site.
The website that "nails" me as a consumer would be the Shi website which is a website that sells shoes and purses. This website is full of pictures of purses and shoes it has many different varieties and can be navigated through different tabs, which makes the website easier to be viewed. When looking for either shoes or purses the website gives the consumer options of other items they may be interested in due to the previous selection. Which is very useful.
The more eye appealing a website is the more the website is viewed by the consumer. Why would a consumer look at a boring website? Also the easier the website is to navigate the more appealing it i due to it simplicity.

Not gonna lie, I am not a shoe an purse guy. But all you did was put in the link and make me draw my own conclusions. Which for someone like me is not good. I have 1 woman and 2 girls who wished they were women in my house. It would have been nice if you could have gone more in depth with the website and what it had to offer, to try and lure me in per say to want to shop on the site for my wife and daughters. Because for someone like me, you just back click or close the page
ReplyDeleteAnd on the contrary, Amanda, I totally dig your choice. I get the majority of my Converse from Journey's, and never knew they had certain sectors of it targeting a particular gender. Also, I had never visited the Journey's site until you posted it here, and instead of hitting the back button or closing the page, I decided to navigate right to the homepage to check out a new pair of shoes that I might enjoy.
ReplyDeleteNice work.
I agree with the first person a little bit. You didn't describe the website at all like we were suppose too. But otherwise i liked your pick, Journeys is a good store, they have lots of flashy advertisements and go towards each gender differently.
ReplyDeleteI like your choice of site because i personally shop there. I my self could visualize the site but only because i have been on it before. I understand what larry is saying all though he came off a little harsh. You just needed more detail so people like him who have never been on the site could see it and some how be intrested. But i love shoes and purses so hey it works for me!
ReplyDeleteSo after reading you post even though I shop at Shi by Journeys the website is a bit boring to me. The shoes on the web site look very cheap coompared from what they sell in the store. However, one thing I like about the site is you can click on the color of shoes you want without having to look at all the other pair of shoes. Also I wish the site would have a bigger image of the shoes when trying to sell to consumers!
