Analyze how interpellation works in your research site (apply concepts from Chapter 6). Analyze how members get "hailed" into becoming a member--look at the way they are talked to by the web designers, look at how identification in that community functions.
Interpellation is when individuals are compelled through a mix of individual psychological and social imperatives to identify with social roles offered to them. So basically how does someone get someone else to join a group and become a member of a group and by what means do they do this? Member mainly geyt "hailed" into a group by the perks they recieve or the other people the group draws in. For example when someone reads a billboard asking for women to join a online dating service the billboard will mostly likely say something along the lines of "come meet attractive men" first 2 months free. This idea will make women want to join. There ar perks (2 months free) and attractive people joining. While on the other hand if thebillboard says "come meet ugly men" and double the price of the other guy. No one will join. To get members there has to be perks or something the company doesn't have.

Throughout school I have always been involved in sports. If it as being on the varsity volleyball team or the varsity softball team. At the institutions I have attended sports have always been at the top of the "list" everyone that was in sports was known by what sport they played or how well they played that sports. It seemed that students and faculty put athletes somewhat at the top. While some students had to follow dress code such as not wearing cutt offs the football players were treated differently for example they were allowed. Teachers seemed to be more leinate on the athletes if it was grading easier or letting them miss some class due to a game. Even in college athletes are treated differently. Also in the institutions I have attended the teacher are different. The ones that want you to be relatable to are the ones that sit when they teach or sit comfortably on a desk while the other stand stiff a the front of the class. The body language of a teacher tells alot about their teaching style and how the class will turn out. These instances are relatable to society. The roles that certain students have just due to the label that they or given, or how much respect a teacher is going to get due to how they stand in front of the class. The aspect of school is somewhat like the real world a label or a certain kind of power will get someone a long way.

Advertisments mainly function on websites to make a profite. If a consumer is viewing a website they are looking at everything and this includes the sponsers and pictures on the side of the page. Companies are placing Paypal on some websites to force consumers to pay a price to view a website. For example I miss a viewing of a TV show and was going to watch it online after watching 5 minutes of the program Paypal popped up and wanted me to pay to finish the episode. These little tricks to get consumers to pay are poping up everywhere and making websites less accessiable. Websites are becoming corprations and means to make a buck. I see it as a petty way to make money and in turn making me the consumer avoid these types of websites. I would say that it does bother the regular consumer. Some may not be used this and then become drawn awy from a website
