When describing the research project this year it was very frustrating. The blog were somewhat confusing and when communicating with the subculture groups it was very diffcult when the group didn't reply. I would consider changing the outline and the steps that the project went by. Communication with the group should be started earlier, so more information can be found. In the end I thought the project went okay.
Another issue that I found with the blog was the reading blogs. These were difficult because there were a limited number of students that actually did the hmwk. And in the end half the class dropped so the requirments should be presented earlier so they know what they are getting into so they can decide earlier. But I thought that the reading blogs were very helpful when it came to doing the final project.

When it comes to who travels it can be people who are both wealthy and poor. I believe it depends on the determination of the person. When it comes to social status or amount of wealth these doesn't matte. Gender on the other hand don't come into play either. It doesn't matter what state the person is in it depends on how badly they want to travel.
These categories are shifting and changing all the time. People are becoming more courageous and want to see the world. Money is becoming harder to spend but people seem still wanting to spend more and more.

This article is mainly about how subcultures and their relationship between social classes and everyday experiences. When it comes to youth and their idea on subcultures and how they influence the ideas of youth. Throughout this article social structure is a main issue and social classes are thrown into the mix. Like the subculture punk which was popular in the mid 1970 due to the youth involvement, this shows that with a large following a subculture grows immensely.
In this article I will be using references that pertain to youth and their involvement in subcultures. When the involvement expands the popularity of a subculture grows and in the end everyone knows the subculture and what they stand for. Also in this article they touch on the subject of social class and how that comes to play with the idea of who is in the subculture group.

Now is your chance to really analyze whether or not your research site is truly a representation of a subculture. You must either defend it OR acknowledge that it doesn't qualify. If it doesn't qualify as a subculture, then exactly what is it? You must use terms and ideas directly from Ch. 8 in your analysis (at least one full paragraph).
A subculture is a group of people that share something in common. They think alike and differ from social norms. For my sbculture group I chose guidos and guidettes and they are a subculture group. They differ from society because of what they stand for which is essentially GTL (gym, tan and laundry). This group goes against the social norm they can be pick out of group by their appearance They aren't considered a counterculture because they don't go against the government. They just want to be tan and have fun.

Reading Blog 9
After reading Chapter 9 thoroughly, please respond to the ideas presented in the chapter and apply them to your own experiences. Please get as specific as possible and use terminology from the chapter correctly. I am looking for a clear application here. Two full paragraphs.
Throughout thi chapter the main idea is abotut space and how is is described or catergorized. When it comes to the chapter one part that I can relate to is how space is catergorized and how people refer to it . Recently I had to drive to Detriot Avenue to see a friend, I had gotten lost and had to call my dad for directions I had told him I was on Washington Street. He immediantly told me to lock my doors and drive back to the highway he called this the bad side of town. When it comes to the idea of naming an area I understand how people call certain areas the bad side of town or the "safe" side. When people ask me where I live an I say Sylvania they tend to imply that I am well off. Like when my teacher assumed that I lived on the right side of town. He was essentially sterotyping where I live. This is one way people describe locations.
Another part of the book that I found ineresting was the section on public pools and the mall.When it comes to public pools I never went. My parents found them dirty and I was forced to swim in a private pool such as a neighbors or family members. I found this section of the book intersting because of how the idea of public pools has changed and how they are somewhat less wanted. When it comes to the mall section I was suprised how they thought of the idea "public" mall. Which means a place that is owned by the public but is free for people to visit. I see this as a lie, when people come to the mall they are there to buy things not walk around so in the end people end up "paying" to go the mall due to the fact that it is more socially acceptable to carry around a shopping bag then be empty handed.

Readin Blog 8
Based on the reading from Ch. 8, try to explain the difference between counterculture and subculture. Provide one picture of each and explain why they should be considered as representations (at least one full paragraph).
A counterculture is a group of people that contradict or challenge society. They are groups such as feminist and activists. These groups go agianst the government and make somewhat of a negative statment at that time. While on the other hand a subculture goes against social norms they are different. They are making a non-aggressive statement. Such as the clothing they wear or what they represent. These groups are popular among younger generations.
